Red Bear was founded in 2016 by Chris Wood and is based in Wigan, Lancashire. We provide software products and consultancy services to participants in the UK electricity and gas industries.
Our flagship product, Honeycomb, is a cloud-native, extensible, fully open registration, billing and customer management system, built using years of experience working alongside real operational teams. Honeycomb is different because it is open: all of its features are available via a secure API which our clients use to integrate with their own proprietary systems.

Our vision
The key word in our vision is ‘enable.’
For far too long we have seen vendors being a limiting and homogenizing factor within the supplier community. Suppliers shouldn’t be spending their time propping up core, commodity systems. Suppliers should be using technology to innovate and offer new experiences and not be held back by inflexible platforms. At RedBear we make our systems extensible and create an ecosystem around which a supplier’s developers can innovate. We enable suppliers to pursue opportunities through great quality basics, good training and sense of comradeship.
